Exhibition Report | CMEF Concludes Successfully, Rendu Bio Leads the Future of RNA Detection


As spring blooms, the grand event unfolds in Shanghai! On April 14, 2024, the 89th China International Medical Equipment (Spring) Expo (CMEF) concluded at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The four-day exhibition, themed “Innovative Technology, Smart Leadership for the Future,” brought together numerous industry-leading companies from both upstream and downstream sectors. Nearly 5,000 brands from over 30 countries and regions across the globe showcased tens of thousands of products. Over 200,000 professionals from around the world gathered to discuss the latest trends and market opportunities in the healthcare industry!


Focusing on precision diagnosis and showcasing industry foresight, Rendu Bio featured its fully automated nucleic acid detection analysis systems, AutoSAT and MiniSAT, along with a range of products, including the reproductive tract pathogen series, blood-borne infectious disease series, respiratory pathogen series, and enterovirus detection series, at booth 6.1H04. The booth attracted a high level of attention, drawing numerous domestic and international channel clients. Staff engaged in in-depth discussions with visitors, explaining new technologies, products, and solutions, and fully showcasing the company’s technological strength and research achievements in the field of molecular diagnostics.


As a pioneer in the field of reproductive tract pathogen detection, Rendu Bio’s reproductive tract pathogen products include nucleic acid detection kits for Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG), Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU), and Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) infections. Unlike traditional tests, RNA nucleic acid detection allows for self-sampling, requiring only a small amount of urine to obtain accurate results. The detection process is simple, non-invasive, safe, and convenient. Leveraging the advantages of urine testing, Rendu Bio has pioneered a home self-testing platform for reproductive tract infections, enabling safe and convenient at-home testing.


The blood-borne infectious disease series, including the full-automation detection of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV, has ushered in an era of high-sensitivity, automated nucleic acid testing with internal standard quantification, all achieved domestically. In terms of product performance, Rendu Bio has not only integrated core advantages such as "internal standard quantification" and "fully automated detection," but also broken away from the traditional batch testing limitations of PCR, offering greater flexibility in sample testing.


In April, as temperatures rise, we are approaching the peak season for Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD). HFMD is an acute infectious disease commonly caused by various enteroviruses, particularly among children aged 5 and under. SAT technology, with its high sensitivity and strong specificity, uses RNA as both the template and amplification product, which effectively reduces laboratory contamination, ensuring result accuracy and minimizing false positives and false negatives. The method is simple, rapid, and provides a reliable experimental basis for the early diagnosis of HFMD. SAT has already demonstrated significant technological advantages in fields such as reproductive tract infections, respiratory infections, blood infections, and enteric infections, showing promising application prospects.


The exhibition attracted many international clients to visit the booth. Many overseas customers expressed great interest in our reproductive health products, including those from Russia, Italy, India, and more. Some clients with local government resources mentioned, “Our country is currently planning screening programs for reproductive health, and Rendu Bio’s products have high sensitivity, which is highly valuable for us.”


Additionally, many clients were excited about the upcoming launch of our MiniSAT. "This device is compact, yet it can automatically complete all steps from extraction to detection!"


MiniSAT is a newly developed fully automated nucleic acid extraction and detection analysis system. It is small and portable, easy to operate, and efficiently achieves fully integrated, automatic testing with the simple process of "sample in, result out."
